This Privacy Policy explains how Sherrick Road Church of God ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Sherrick Road Church of God mobile application (the "App"). We built this App to help our church community stay connected, and we take the trust that comes with that seriously.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what the App needs to function:

• Prayer requests you submit. If you choose to send a prayer request, we collect the text of that request and, if you provide it, your name. You may submit prayer requests anonymously, and you may mark a request as private so it is seen only by our staff.
• Optional follow-up contact information. When submitting a prayer request, you may optionally provide your email address and/or phone number so our prayer team can follow up with you. This is entirely optional, is never shown on the public prayer wall, and is used only to reach out to you about your request.
• Basic technical information. Like most apps, we may receive limited technical data (such as device type and app version) needed to deliver content and keep the App working.

We do not require you to create an account or log in, and we do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information unless you voluntarily include them in a prayer request.

2. How We Use Information

• To share prayer requests with our church community or prayer team after review;
• To notify our staff by email when a new prayer request is submitted, so it can be reviewed;
• To send you a confirmation and, if you provided contact information, to allow our prayer team to follow up with you;
• To display church content such as announcements, events, and videos; and
• To maintain, secure, and improve the App.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Prayer Request Moderation & Visibility

Prayer requests are reviewed by church staff before they appear publicly in the App. You can choose whether a request is shared with the community or kept private for staff only. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing, since any request you choose to make public may be visible to other users of the App.

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on a small number of trusted service providers:

• Google Firebase stores App content (such as prayer requests and uploaded images) and helps deliver features. Its use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Sheets and Google Calendar are used to display our announcements and event information.
• YouTube is used to display our church's publicly posted videos; viewing videos may be subject to Google/YouTube's terms and privacy policy.
• Zeffy handles online giving. When you choose to give, you are taken to Zeffy's secure page, and any payment information you enter is provided directly to Zeffy — not to us or the App.
• YouVersion / Bible.com opens in your browser or the YouVersion app when you use the Bible feature; your use there is governed by their terms.

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.

5. Data Retention

We keep prayer requests and announcements for as long as they are useful to our community, and we may archive or remove them at our discretion. You may ask us to remove a prayer request you submitted (see Section 8).

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for our whole church community, including families, but it is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only feature that lets a user submit information is the prayer request form, which is optional and may be submitted without a name. We encourage children and young people to get a parent's or guardian's permission before submitting a prayer request. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use reputable infrastructure (Google Firebase) and reasonable safeguards to protect the information in the App. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices & Requests

• Removing a prayer request: contact us and we will remove a request you submitted where we can reasonably identify it.
• Questions or concerns: reach us using the contact details below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
